Day 03: Monday Evening: Fatehpur Sikri

 

At 2:30 pm, arrive at FatehpurSikri and proceed for excursion to the deserted Mughal City, comprising of imposing gateways, Halls of Private and Public audience and beautifully sculptured palaces. Return to the train by 6 pm and enjoy a special Indian evening followed by dinner.

 

Day 4: Tuesday Morning: Agra

 

7 am, arrival and excursion to one of the wonders of the world, The TajMahal; constructed entirely out of white marble, an architectural masterpiece featuring beautiful inlay work and marble screens. This is followed by another exclusive event, champagne breakfast at TajKhema, overlooking TahMahal, atop a hillock. Later return to the train by 10:45 am and depart.

 

Day 3: Friday Morning: Ranthambhore

 

On arrival at SawaiMadhopur Railway Station proceed for excursion to Jungles of Ranthambhore - the private hunting ground of the Maharajas. Possible sighting of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.Also, sambar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, jackal and leopard. Return to train by 9:30 and enjoy brunch on board. Depart onwards.

Day 4: Tuesday Afternoon: Gwalior

 

12:30 pm on board lunch. Reach Gwalior by 2:15 and proceed for a visit to Gwalior Fort. Admire exquisite temples and palaces, out of which the most spectacular is the Man Mandir Palace, a masterpiece of Rajput architecture, and comes embellished with exquisite stone carving & latticework. There are the famous Saas-Bahu (Mother and Daughter-in-law) temples that are covered with beautiful sculptures of dancing girls and deities. Also, Visit nearby Jain Cave Sculptures.
Optional tour: Avail Spa facilities at Hotel UshaKiran Palace.
6 pm, See Jai Vilas Palace Museum, a section of which still remains residence of royal family of Gwalior.Admire stupendous Durbar Hall with its crystal staircase, arched ceiling with stunning gold leaf work that supports two of world’s largest chandeliers.
Afterwards, High tea is served in the compound of Jai Vilas Palace.
Return to the train by 9m and journey onwards.
