Day 1: Saturday:Delhi

 

Welcome and check-in formalities at 8:45 pm at Delhi Safdarjung Railway Station followed by dinner on board. Train departs from station at 10 pm.

 

Day 02: Sunday: Jaipur

 

8 am, breakfast on board and arrive into the Pink City – Jaipur at 10 am. Excursion to Amber Fort, situated on a small hillock and overlooking Maota Lake and has a Chamber of Mirrors (Sheesh Mahal), and the Hall of Victory. At 12:30 pm, proceed for one of the exclusive Maharajas’ experience of exhibition Elephant Polo Matccoh followed by champagne lunch at City Palace. Post lunch visit the SawaiMansingh II Museum within the City Palace Complex
Return to the train by 4pm. Relax on board or you may also choose to participate in the optional activities such as Spa facilities at a 5 star hotel or Private shopping tour or Golfing at Rambagh Golf club or Visit to JantarMantar, HawaMahal and Birla Temple. 8 pm, dinner on board and continue onwards,
Afternoon optional tour in Jaipur
On completing tour of Amber you will have opportunity to shop for some of finest jewelery, textiles and blue pottery the city is renowned for The other option besides this is participation in one of optional tours like enjoying spa facilities at palace hotel or proceed on private shopping tour or enjoy Golfing at Rambagh Golf Club.

 

Day 3: Friday Morning: Ranthambhore

 

On arrival at SawaiMadhopur Railway Station proceed for excursion to Jungles of Ranthambhore - the private hunting ground of the Maharajas. Possible sighting of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.Also, sambar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, jackal and leopard. Return to train by 9:30 and enjoy brunch on board. Depart onwards.

Day 03: Monday Morning: Ranthambhore

 

On arrival at SawaiMadhopur Railway Station proceed for excursion to Jungles of Ranthambhore - the private hunting ground of the Maharajas. Possible sighting of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger.Also, sambar, chital, nilgai, chinkara, wild boar, sloth bear, hyena, jackal and leopard. Return to train by 9:30 and enjoy brunch on board. Depart onwards.

Day 03: Monday Evening: Fatehpur Sikri

 

At 2:30 pm, arrive at FatehpurSikri and proceed for excursion to the deserted Mughal City, comprising of imposing gateways, Halls of Private and Public audience and beautifully sculptured palaces. Return to the train by 6 pm and enjoy a special Indian evening followed by dinner.

 

Day 4: Tuesday Morning: Agra

 

7 am, arrival and excursion to one of the wonders of the world, The TajMahal; constructed entirely out of white marble, an architectural masterpiece featuring beautiful inlay work and marble screens. This is followed by another exclusive event, champagne breakfast at TajKhema, overlooking TahMahal, atop a hillock. Later return to the train by 10:45 am and depart.

 

Day 3: Friday Morning: Ranthambhore

Day 4: Tuesday Afternoon: Gwalior

 

12:30 pm on board lunch. Reach Gwalior by 2:15 and proceed for a visit to Gwalior Fort. Admire exquisite temples and palaces, out of which the most spectacular is the Man Mandir Palace, a masterpiece of Rajput architecture, and comes embellished with exquisite stone carving & latticework. There are the famous Saas-Bahu (Mother and Daughter-in-law) temples that are covered with beautiful sculptures of dancing girls and deities. Also, Visit nearby Jain Cave Sculptures.
Optional tour: Avail Spa facilities at Hotel UshaKiran Palace.
6 pm, See Jai Vilas Palace Museum, a section of which still remains residence of royal family of Gwalior.Admire stupendous Durbar Hall with its crystal staircase, arched ceiling with stunning gold leaf work that supports two of world’s largest chandeliers.
Afterwards, High tea is served in the compound of Jai Vilas Palace.
Return to the train by 9m and journey onwards.

Day 5: Wednesday: Orchha&Khajuraho

 

6:30 am, breakfast on board as you enjoy the passing scenery.
7:30 am, disembark to visit Orchha fort complex and in it, Jahangir Mahal which is excellent example of Rajput Bundela architecture and is a multi layered palace with 132 chambers.
Return to the train by 9:45 pm and journey onwards.
12 pm, lunch on board.
2:30 pm, arrive in Khajuraho and proceed for excursion to the Khajuraho Temples. Built between 950 and 1050 AD, the temples is superb example of Indo-Aryan architecture.
Then visit KandariyaMahadev Temple and Chaunsath Yogini Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and 64 Yoginis respectively.
Optional Tour: Avail spa facility at a hotel.
8:15 pm, return to train for on board dinner and depart onwards.

 

Day 6: Thursday: Varanasi

 

8 am, breakfast on board.
12 pm arrival in Varanasi and a quick visit to Silk Weaving Centre.Shop for some world famous Banarasi silk saris & brocades.
1:30 pm lunch at Taj Gateway Hotel, followed by an excursion to the ancient runes of Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first sermon expounding principles of Buddhism.
Return to the city at 5:30 pm for a boat ride on River Ganges to witness magical evening Aarti. 8 pm, return to train for dinner and head to next destination.

 

Day 7: Friday: Lucknow

 

7 am, breakfast on board and arrival at Utretia Station within an hour.
8:15 am, disembark on a journey to explore the ‘City of Nawabs’ – Lucknow.
Visit Bara Imambara, considered to be largest vaulted apartment in world comprising of ornamental gateways, corridors and galleries. Then there’s, Rumi Darwaza, a beautifully ornamented gateway and The Residency, where you can unravel the history of Mutiny of 185.
1 pm, return to the tranquility of Maharajas’ Express for lunch and time at leisure.
At 5:30 pm, proceed for an ‘Indian cultural evening’ followed by dinner at the residence of Raja of Jehangirabad.
Return by 9m and depart for Delhi.

Day 8: Saturday: Delhi

 

Journey aboard Maharajas Express ends on return to Safderjung Railway Station, Delhi. Check-out after breakfast by 830 a.m

Booking Procedure

 

  1. Advice preferred date of journey with cabin type & number of passengers.
  2. We require Name/Nationality/Date Of Birth/Passport Numbers of all the passengers to process booking request.
  3. Booking will be confirmed on receipt of MINIMUM 30% advance deposit of Ticket Value.
  4. Balance Payment must reach us at least 70 days before tour depart.
  5. Booking request made less than 70 days before tour depart ,will be confirmed on receipt of one time full deposit of ticket value.
  6. To issue Travel documents ,we require Passport Copy of all passengers & Reservation Form.
  7. Advice interest to Book Hotels in New Delhi & Mumbai or customized package tours pre/post train tour journey.
  8. Passengers are advised to pre-book Tour Insurance from country of origin of travel

 

Cancellation Terms

(a) Royal Indian Trains is PSA-IA of Maharajas’ Express operated by IRCTC; & our liability is limited to that of Booking Agent Only.
(b) All requests for cancellation must be made in writing & acknowledged by us.
(c) Minimum 30% of ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if booking cancelled > 65 days before tour depart
(d) Minimum 50% of ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if booking cancelled between 64 days to 50 days before tour depart
(e) Full 100% of ticket value will be charged as cancellation fee if booking cancelled < 49 days before tour depart
(f) Request for Change in Passenger Name/Journey Date as per IRCTC policy
(g) All overseas refunds ,as per cancellation policy are subject to rules & regulations of Reserve Bank Of India
(h) Royal Indian Trains reserves the right to deduct US$ 100 bank processing fee to process overseas funds & will be refunded in equivalent INR Rupees as per amount received.
